A flick of St. Nick

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.,
I was thinking of presents under the tree,
When it came to mind which ones were for me..

The children were getting ready for bed,
when the Christmas jingles got stuck in their heads,
I looked out of the window and saw lots of snow,
and I then heard a voice say Ho Ho Ho.

I knew from a flick,
it must be St. Nick,
and I went with a flash,
but first I heard a crash .

St. Nick came down with a huge sack,
Filled with lots of toys on his back,
I jumped with joy and said “Look that's my toys”,
As he handed them over with elegance and joy.

As St. Nick said you should be in bed,
I started to yawn he said you sleepy head,
Before I fell in to my bed I watched him drive out of sight,
I said, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."

The morning of Christmas

It was the morning of Christmas,
a time of the year.
Where children sprang out of their beds with great cheer.
Presents were placed under the tree,
I was hoping one of them was there for me.
I had been wishing and wishing for a baseball bat,
but I knew it was just a scarf and a hat.
As I put them on ready to go out,
something blocked the door and I heard a shout.
Finally the door swung open and what did I see?
A jolly old man smiling at me.
Then I turned around to rub my eyes,
St.Nicholas had gone without goodbyes.
When then I ran out to play in the snow,
I heard a faint, jolly voice saying "HO HO HO!!!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

'Twas The Morning of Christmas!!!

It was the morning of Christmas when it started to begin.
Everyone was spending time with their kin.
People were opening their presents with joy.
Which put a smile on every girl and boy.

We ran to the stockings in search for more,
The contents filled our eyes with wonder and awe.
Everyone sat at the table to await the feast.,
We all tucked into a succulent geese.

The children went out to play in the snow,
Their rosy cheeks were filled with glow.
Finally came the end of the day,
Then I realised it was only May!

The wait for St Nick - by Alfie, Ella, Alex, Natasha and Cara

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

I lay there excited  in wait of Saint Nick,
hoping that he would arrive real quick.

Happiness filled the atmosphere,
everyone waiting for Saint Nick to appear.

Once everybody had fallen asleep,
Santa appeared for his midnight treat.

Everyone’s houses were filled with glee,
as people were walking up to see.

Glorious presents left in the night,
stockings filled with presents delights!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Christmas Night - by Pav, Ben, Morgan, Hannah and Gaby

Christmas night

It was the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
As I looked out my window I saw the bright moon
I knew that Santa was coming soon.
Suddenly footsteps filled the air
And then I knew that he was there.
As just then I heard a very big bang
From the comfort of my bed I sprang.
I heard the crunching of cookies and slurping of milk
As I put my shoes on, that felt like silk.
Down the stairs I climbed
As the clock chimed.
Surprised I felt
As all I could see was Santa’s black belt.

Bethan has been writing a short story.....

Death lurked
Death lurked in every doorway with hell at one dark window. My hair stood on end, a shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat. It was him…
The air turned black all around me, icy fingers gripped my arm in the darkness.  Closer and closer it came. I blacked out…
Am I in heaven? What happened to me? The lights flicked, and there he was! Me handcuffed to the chair. Stuck. A scream shattered the silence.

Then it stopped.

Alfie's 100 Word Challenge Week #12

I ventured through the maze of palm trees, scavenging for food like the many other families affected by the typhoon, I held my hands out in front of me, pushing my way through the leaves when I tripped and fell.  Feeling sand on my face, I knew I was back at the beach. I pulled myself up, noticing a grass-green bottle on the shore, half buried with rocks and sand.

I picked it up and saw a soggy old letter inside, it read:

To whom it may concern,
We've heard the dreadful news about the hurricane and we are sending first aid helicopters and a saviour ship, both with precious cargo containing food and water.  They'll be here soon.
Yours sincerely,
Your saviour.

Gaby's 100 Word Challenge Week #12

Dear receiver,
If you find this letter you are in luck. You still have hope just keep on going. I know you can do it because I believe in you and if you believe anything is possible. Keep searching for food and water. Don't give up on yourself. The kind people of Britain are trying to help you servive. People are making fundraisers to raise money for you to have shelter, food and water. I am making friendship bracelets and selling them to raise money to help you.

There is a ship coming from Britain with food on it and this ship will help the sick and injured to get better It will give you shelter and warmth.

 Yours faithfully,
 Gabrielle

Beth's 100 Word Challenge - Week #10

The large, vicious truck charged at me in an angry motion. I stepped back even further then I slipped and fell into the water. Black!

As I slowly regained conciousness, I realised I had almost drowned, I swiftly swam to the top of the water.  I took as many breaths as I could manage whilst I swam over to safety.  I stumbled out, clinging to the side as I choked on the large amount of water that swam around in my mouth. I collapsed onto my back gasping for air.  I couldn’t bring myself to stand, I was too weak!

Ella's 100 Word challenge - Week #10

There were muddy, messy, old boots sticking out from the reflective water.  I stepped forward to peer closer into the small pond.  My heart pounded loudly when I saw the pond was small and shallow but I saw legs in the boots.  There was a size on the soul of the shoe, size nine.  I thought of who I new that had size nine shoes.  No, can’t think of anyone.

There was lots of people here now: they thought I did it but I didn’t.  Someone called the ambulance….

Everyone gasped as the paramedics pulled the old man out of the water. His hair was straggly and grey. His clothes looked old and ruined.  My Grandad.

Natasha's 100 Word Challenge Week #6

Looking down, I was surprised to see that I was in a diffrent dimention! It was amazing but then my hot air balloon slowly burst down, Suddenly I swinged across the sky.  I crashed down like a broken winged bird.
At that moment I heard something in the bushes, so I crept backwards fearfully.  Then a strange bright green monkey came out.  He had two huge eyes.
He looked humongesly scared, so I finaly said "don't worry, I'm friendly! Then he jumped on me and huged me.
I heard a loud noise. It was coming closer, so we both ran as fast as the speed of light......

Alex's 100 Word Challenge Week #6

Looking down, I was surprised to see more beautiful hot air balloons rising into the air..  It lifted my heart to know that people were coming to our hot air balloon show.
Many hours later I spotted an out of control balloon with five people in as it crashed into a huge building. No one was watching the weather as a ginourmous tornado was brewing. We jerked out of control, smashing into other balloons and more buildings.  We keep parachutes in the basket so we grabbed them and jumped out. Then everything went black, hours later I awoke. It was chaos.

Ella's 100 Word Challenge Week #4

The statue stood tall in the grey winters breeze. The face was red (with patterns). You could hear the screams from miles away.  The stamping could defain a soul. We all grabbed our sordes and ran after it to cut off the legs comeing from the top of his head like his hair stood on end.  Even though it couldn't walk, it could hop and shuffle, it was fast.  The legs at the top of it's head were shaking furiosly.  The frown was beginning into a darker smile.  Everywhere became black, all you could see was his white teeth glowing in the dark.

Ollie's 100 Word Challenge Week #4

The banging of the African drums grew louder as I wondered into the national park in Paris.  I was the only person there, and I was pretty scared.  The leafles trees swayed back and forth and the green light that shone on the trees and hedges was casting an eriee glow.  Suddenly the banging stopped.  A creepy shadow lay on the cobble stone ground.  I stumbeled over to the shadow and looked up.  What I saw horrified me... it was a statue.

Lucie's 100 Word Challenge Week #4

Hi  i'm Leon, i'm a statue but no one likes me because of my legs, well my hair.  Today is my birthday and Im now give I mean five hundred years old and still have no and I mean NO friends!  Everyone just laughs at me and my legs, all I want is one simple friend.  All I see is people walking past me, but today is the best day of my life.  Today two lovely boys called Owen and Louie came and sat on my lap, they took a picture and said they would stay, my new best friends.

Beth's 100 Word Challenge Week #3

.....and then I saw it, a bright light, shimmering in the dark lit night.  I looked up: the light almost blinding me, I looked down, I slowly fell asleep upon the grassy, green mound.
I woke up again. It looked like I was in my room but I had a funny feeling it wasn't! I investigated around my room,.  I looked out the window. It was all black, there was nothing. This wasn't my room.  Suddenly a large three fingered hand covered my mouth and nose, causing me to pass out.

Morgan's 100 Word Challenge Week #3

I had just come out of Court. I thougt I would just go to prison but instead I was sentenced to death!  I only had a day to live and that day was in a prison cell. I could see lots of other prisoners in their cells wearing orange prisoner suits.  I wasn't aloud food or drink, the only thing I could do was think. I looked out my window and I could see lots of people getting on with their everyday lives but suddenly some guards took me out of my cell to my death.  A bag was put on my head and then I saw a bright light.

Louis' 100 Word Challenge Week #3

One boiling hot sunny day, I was on an adventure in a deep jungle. Tall trees surounded me, I heard monkeys shouting loudly and it hurt my ears.
Suddenly, BANG!!! All I heard was a huge bang in the distance. I cut down some bushes, and then I saw a bright light.  I ran, ran and ran like heyanes were chasing me!  I came to an old temple with drawing up the wall.
I walked in and pressed a collosal button that opened a wall.  In front of me I saw gold and diamond. I thought that was the bright light I was following.

Believe in yourself!

We have been thinking about our goals for the year and how achieving our goals can come down to self belief. We wrote this together in groups and put the ideas together. What do YOU think?

You Decide Your Destination

Just believe in yourself and that’s a good start.
Don’t think small, dream BIG!
Believe you can do it.
If you don’t you will not rise,
You will not succeed,
You will lose!
If life gives you lemons—make lemonade!

When you give up, you are beaten,
When you try, you win.
Have faith in yourself and you might achieve your destiny.
Think of your goal.

If you doubt yourself, you won’t achieve.
If you believe it can happen—it can happen!
You can bounce back when things go wrong.

Life is a rollercoaster—
You just have to ride it.
It doesn’t matter what other people say, just do it.

When you think you can’t do it, never give up.
Believe in yourself and always try.
Don’t let others push you down and dream on.
Never think small, always think tall.

Life is your choice
Listen to that voice
You only live once so make the most of it.
If you can read it, you can achieve it!

If you believe in yourself, you will succeed.
If you don’t, you won’t.

If you think you have failed, you have.
If you see the finish line, give it all you’ve got.

If life gives you opportunities, take them.
If there’s a chance, take it.
It’s your choice.

Everybody’s a winner.
Don’t let anybody put you down.
Your self-talk can’t beat you—think positive
Be yourself
You are your own person

Alfie's 100 Word Challenge - Week 1

I left the Kayak, heading inland towards the sacred temple of Ramses II. Creeping silently towards the cave where the entrance was hidden, I looked into the pitch blackness, suddenly I heard a crack. I quickly span around to see a tribe of warriors charging, cursing me in foreign languages. I ran like the wind, they were blocking my way to the kayak. I ran further and further into he forest. Suddenly I heard the flowing of water, and I quickly changed direction to the sound. There I was, standing on the banks of the river, I was trapped, they came closer, closer and closer.....

Gaby's 100 Word Challenge - Week 1

This morning I woke up feeling really excited about today. Running as fast as I could down the stairs, I grabbed some bread, put them inside the toaster, grabbed the butter, took the toast out of the toaster and went outside. Happily walking to the bus stop to meet my friends, I was thinking about what was going to happen today.....I was thinking about seeing this awesome horror movie called Face Punch....We got to the movies and then we bought our ticket and our popcorn. We sat down in our seats. Suddenly I heard a crack.......

Oliver's 100 Word Challenge - Week 1

Running as fast as I could, I pelted through the dark forest. I risked looking back, and yes, they were still following. I put my hands in my pocket and pulled my sword out. It glowed even though there was no light shining through the leaves that belonged to the collosal trees. I hid behined the closest one and let the first monster pass, as soon as it had I jumped out and stabbed it in the back. No sooner had my bronze blade touched it, it turned to dust. I climbed the tree and watched them pass. Suddenly I hered a crack......

Sam's 100 Word Challenge - Week 1

Hiding quickly I was scared, in my house it was pitch black nobody around no one. I heard screming next....AHH! Someone scremed. I looked around no one there but there was a noise it was asking me questions. Who are you? you don't belong here. I didn't like it at all. I try to find a light swich, then I found one but the light wouldn't come on. I wanted to get out of my house but the doors were locked. It was just me I needed a better hiding place but there wasn't any more. I went upstairs and found the light switch and it came on. Then I heard a crack.
