You have all worked really hard.  You will be fine.

Relax and do your best.

Motivational Poetry

We have been writing poems to motivate and inspire each other before our SATs next week. We collaborated in groups to come up with five different ones.

We used a poem called 'If' as our inspiration

Do our poems inspire you??

Believe = Succeed
by Bethan, Ollie, Ella, Jonathan, Alex and Pav

If you think you won't succeed, you won't!
If you think you're a failure, you are.
If you think you've lost, you probably have.

If you think positive, you'll triumph.
If you want it more than the next man,
You will get it.

In the end, if you try,
The victory will be yours.

Motivation
by Lucas, Morgan, Louie, Natasha and Callum

You live to accomplish
So accomplish you will.
You do what you wish,
You wish what you do.
The more you risk,
The more you earn.

You thrive to succeed,
In believing, you win.
You live your life how you want,
And greatness will come to you.

If you never take a chance,
There is no point in life!
Even if you fall back down,
There is a choice to get back up.
If you can't do it, don't give up.
Take a chance, you might just get it.

Risks
by Lillie, Katie, Sam, Owen, Gaby and Cara

Life's about risks, challenges for all.
Take the risk, don't be a fool.
Sit back, close your eyes.
If you think you can, you'll fly.

Open the door and get outside.
Don't be afraid and don't hide.
If you think you can win, of course you can.
Do the risk and be the man.

If you're worried, just believe
Because if you believe, you will succeed.
Just remember, we're all here for you,
You can try again if you lose.

Take a chance
by Beth, Lucie, Ben, Laura, Reuben and Alfie

Take a chance. Don't look back.
Take a risk, Don't look down.
Live in the present, not in the past.
Live in the good times, not the bad.

Strong and fast isn't always best
So don't be sad and depressed.
Fight through the struggles,
Jump over the hurdles,
Push all your limits and break through,
Burst your bubble, make sure you do.

If people don't believe, no one will succeed.
Make your life worthwhile
And you will go a mile.
You don't need to live in style,
Just as long as you wear a smile.

If you don't take a risk,
It will drive you round the bend.
So take it.
It's always worth it in the end.

Can you beat life?
by Bella, Louis, Hannah, Charlie, Tyler and Darnell

If you can win a race,
Then you can win a marathon.

If you can win a marathon,
Then you can win a war.

If you can win a war,
Then you can beat life.

If you think you can,
You will succeed.

If you try, you'll do your best,
If you don't, you won't go far.

If you can't, you lose your track,
If you lose, don't give up.

If you feel in the mist,
Just take that risk.

You can beat whatever life throws at you
And possibly more.

SO GO FOR IT!

Pav's Art wins fourth place!

Well done to Pav who won fourth place in the Bookfest Art Competition run by NADFAS. Pav's picture was of a scene from Piers Torday's 'The Last Wild' You can view Pav's artwork on display in the children's section at the Shrewsbury library. We are all really proud of you Pav!

Sam wins a Bookfest Prize

Well done to Sam who was one of only four children out of over one thousand to win a poetry competition run by Bookfest Book Awards.
Sam's poem based on Jim Smith's book 'I am still not a loser by Barry Loser' made the judges laugh.
We are all very proud of him and it was lovely to see him go up on stage at the awards ceremony at St Chad's church.
Jim Smith was at the ceremony to hear Sam's poem being read out loud by the poet Sarah Jane Arbury.

 Here is Sam's poem...

Barry Loser

My name is Barry Loser,
My life is just the worst.
Hodge Podge my head teacher
Always picks me first.

And if you think that is bad
You haven't heard the worst yet.
When Hodge Podge always picks me
I get called teacher's pet.

Now Bunkey, he is funny
And he's also my best friend.
I hope that he will be
Around until the very end.

Another problem I have got
Is all to do with my Granny.
She is dating Hodge Podge
And everyone thinks it's funny.

My name is Barry Loser
My life is just the worst.
And if you feel like I do,
Well at least you're not the first.

Lillie's 100 Word Challenge - Week #28

“But I thought I had enough time!” I scream in horror.

Sitting on the cold, hard ground next to a bubbling acid pool staring at a sinking

skeleton, my 16 month old brother.

“WHY!?”

My tears drop into the acid making hissing noises. I stand up and look at my

surroundings: black sky with green ghosts dotted around in the sky, hard, cold,

flat ground with no houses in sight and acid pools everywhere.

“WOOF”

“Jack!” I scream with hope.

I run as fast as my feet can take me. Jack, my dog, is running around my half-
dead parents.

“You got too overwhelmed with the power, you forgot about the bomb, I

love…” My parents say in sync with their last breath.

I fall to the ground.

“Noooo!”

Bethan's 100 Word Challenge - Week #28

A shrill cry echoed in the distance, as I ran like a cheetah though the woods. Blood

ran down my top as I had just killed her. Fresh, cold blood, just what the master

wanted.

Until, I was stabbed. “But I thought I had enough time.” cried the ghost of my taunting

self. As my dead self lay there my ghost arose and headed off in to the distance.

“Master, Master I have the blood.” shouted myself.

“Who are you and where are you?” bellowed the Master.

“It’s me your hunter, I’m dead….”

Louis 100 Word Challenge - Week #28

8 April 2003
But I thought I had enough time,” I said.
7 April 2003 – Military Mission – 14:21
I was crawling silently through the long grass, with Riley (my military dog.) Just then enemy troops passed by with their heavy armour tank. If I made a sound, there would be trouble.
At about 14:25 I moved on. I knelt by some dug up earth.
In the distance there was a missile, being lifted up into the sky, it was huge.
Suddenly, BOOM!!! The missile was dropped and only leaving Riley and I survivors, maybe not. I didn’t have enough time to defuse the missile.

“What do I do?” I quietly murmured.

Lucas's 100 Word Challenge - Week #28

Scream of the dead
An ear-piercing scream echoed through the woods, shattering all silence of the night. I left the body and dashed away, my knife leaving a trail of blood behind me, the deed was done.
You could call me ruthless but I know what I am, I know.
The Loxa were closing in, my hopes were being defied, I thought I had enough time but I was wrong. Surrounded. Their red beady eyes fixed on me, It was hopeless until… I pulled my knife out and pressed the button. The thick blade and separated into pieces, then I hurled my razor blades at them, and that’s when the trigger was pulled.

Day 4...

The weather has been kind to us all week and it had managed to stay dry most of today, although a bit wet this afternoon.  Today we have done a mix of blind trail,  survival skills, abseiling and more. We are all so impressed with the way all the children have approached each activity with a positive attitude and not been afraid to have a go. We are very proud of them and think they have been the best group we have brought to date.
Last full day today....it has flown by.
Message from Ben to his Mum - he has been completing all the activities and is awaiting his surprises at home!! ;)
